Microsoft Live Writer Beta 2

Juni 2nd, 2007 by Blu:RayNe

Windows Live Writer
I must confess that this thing is definatly good.

Well, you have to install a third party plugin to highlight PHP Code, because the Default Windows Live Writer Plugin only support Microsoft Programming Languages, but then it’s definatly very well done.

For example i see following things on my sidebar:

  • Insert Hyperlink
  • Insert Pictures (from clipboard, with shadows and so on)
  • Insert Code
  • Insert Tags
  • Insert Video
  • Insert ScreenCapture
  • Inser Currently Listening
  • Insert Table (with well done Table-editing!)

You can even extend it’s functions with other plugins, most third party like these here. It connects to most popular blog software and has all the necessary options you can also submit in your blog.

Probably image scaling is still a problem ? they get to too blurry ? but after all, although i hate Microsoft, i changed to Windows Live Writer

Anyway, most things are better done than in Post2Blog which is now freeware. I only wonder what happened to Microsoft. Do they see themselves dropping market segments? Still, Microsoft stuff is frustrating, but it’s get better?

P.S.: Switch to normal layout editing mode. The MSIE layout engine still drops important CSS2 features ;)
